Golden Milk Turmeric Bliss Balls
I’ve always found food to be enjoyable. It brings people together. It is the building blocks of what we are (our cells are constantly regenerating from the foods we eat). It affects our hormones and blood sugar, which are intrinsically related to mood. It affects our overall gut health and our digestion, which effect our wellbeing.
So when I started to realize that the foods I used to think were bringing me joy were actually hurting me in the long run and negatively affecting my health, mood and wellbeing, I knew I needed a perspective shift.
I started searching for foods that I could enjoy making and eating that were building my health instead. Replacing our old bad habits with good habits is actually way easier than removing a bad habit all together. I won’t get too much into the neuroscience of it but it is scientifically proven that it is easier to create a new neural pathway over another one instead of ignoring one all together.
This recipe was born from wanting a healthy snack. It is packed with ingredients that will build immunity, cut back on inflammation, support thyroid function and isn’t loaded with artificial ingredients or refined sugars.
When the food we eat is positively affecting our body we all win and it is much easier to find happiness every day.
Here is a quick rundown of how these ingredients support your health and can affect your happiness and wellbeing. Because after all, aren’t we more likely to enjoy life when we feel our best?
•Turmeric is great for reducing inflammation
•Walnuts are great for brain health and high in antioxidants
•Brazil Nuts are high in selenium which is a powerful antioxidant, supports thyroid function and is necessary for bone health
•Black pepper helps the absorption of curcumin, the antioxidant in turmeric
•Mucuna Pruriens contains L-Dopa the precursor for dopamine, which can help boost your mood and soothe the nervous system
•Coconut is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic
And these ingredients do so much more!
